Now I am sure it is not just me, but somedays I have no motivation to get really dressed up or look really put together with my outfit. A great way to look put together with little effort is by throwing on a statement sweater. Statement Sweater! What, do you mean statement sweater? Now a statement sweater is not just your average sweater, it is one that draws attention to it and has something special. Take a look below at some of my favorite statement sweaters for this wintertime (and yes there are some Christmasy sweaters included).

Fall, defined as the best time of the year. Fall is a time where you can wear pants, and light jackets or, light blouses and coats and mix things up. The weather is not too cold nor too wet, humid, or hot. Fall is a great time to break out the dark lipsticks and discover your new favorite pair of skinnies and ankle booties. This fall, I have my loving a few items that I would feel incomplete without.

As it starts to move more into fall-like weather and gets colder, I feel more and more in denial about losing my tan and losing those summery days.  In the colder months, your skin fades, your hair loses it's highlights, and things can begin to lose their glow. So, I figured I'd put a few products together on how to keep that summery look even during those not-so-warm months. Here are a few of my summer favorites that I plan on using to keep my summer glow. Hope you enjoy!



Self-Tanner: 

My favorite self-tanner is from the brand St. Tropez. 

There tanners give such a natural tanned look and don't 

leave your skin looking orange. Also they are easy to 

apply and don't leave your skin streaky; the applicator mitt 

helps to give a smooth and even application while 

preventing your hands from turning brown from the self-

tanner. I prefer to use either the tanning lotion or 

mouse, but any of their products are good to use to 

achieve a summery glow.




Texturizing Sprays:

Now I have two really good texturizing sprays

that will help to give you those gorgeous beachy

waves. The first is from bumble and bumble.

Now I know it's a bit pricey but this spray will

last you for a long time and is just so great. You

spritz a bit of this into the lower ends of your hair

and then, with your fingers, just crunch your hair

upwards.



The second texturizing spray is from Oribe. This

spray is great because it is a mix between a dry

shampoo and a volumizing spray. During the

winter months, hair tends to get flat and dull and

this spray helps to give a luscious, voluminous

look to your hair. Same as the B&B spray, you

simply spray some of the product on dry hair for

instant volume. Also since this spray is part dry

shampoo, it will control oils in your hair so your

hair doesn't look greasy or flat. This spray is great

for messy updos or hair down.




Bronzer:

An easy way to keep that summery glow is by using

bronzers. One of my favorite is the Guerlain Terracotta

Bronzing Powder. It is more brown based than orange

based, and provides a nice flush of bronze to your face,

giving a nice natural tanned look. Any of the bronzers

from Guerlain are great, but I like this one because it is

simple and has a pinch of shimmer to it to really give a

dewey glow to your skin. A slightly less expensive option

is the bronzers from Bobbi Brown or Too Faced.





Hair Oil:

The Damage Reverse Instant Restorative Hair Serum is one of

my favorite hair oils. During the summertime hair is exposed

to the sun, salt water, and chlorine, all of which can cause

damage to hair and cause split ends. This oil from Ojon

prevents future breakage while repairing past damage. In

addition, it gives hair a healthy shine and makes hair sleek and

smooth.

I thought I would choose a younger catch this week with Emma Roberts. This twenty-something is always out and about and in comfortable, effortless styles. Although she may dress a bit mature for er age, she never seems to disappoint. Emma tends to rock simple outfits with a statement piece. In the top left, her statement piece is a big sunhat. In the bottom left, her statement piece is a bold, fun, and flirty floral top. Whether she is out shopping or eating frozen yogurt, Emma's styles is calm, cool, and collected.

Designer Loza Maléombho has created a unique and innovative approach to couture fashion for her spring/summer 2013 collection. The pieces she has designed show off her incredible talent and daringness of her style. Her collection is inspired by the Akan tribes of Ghana and the Baoulé tribe in Côte d’Ivoire. The collection displays her African heritage while adding a modern twist with a unique aesthetic. All of her designs feature rich, detailed, and colorful prints that enhance the shapes of each garment. Her company, which has reached an international interest, stands out for its dedication to empowerment of women in Côte d’Ivoire.

Elle and Dakota Fanning go to a 'J.Estina event in complimenting spring 2013 dresses. Each one different and unique, but both are fabulous. Elle is wearing a floral dress with an A-line flowy skirt with yellow accents that compliment her rich blonde hair, and she is wearing nude low platforms that are age-appropriate. Dakota, on the other hand, is wearing a beautiful and feminine lace, sleeveless dress paired with a silver and gold cuff and silver metallic oxford flats. Both girls look feminine, beautiful and sophisticated. Which one is your favourite?

Clémence Poésy is a French actress and fashion model. You might know her from the Harry Potter series as Fleur and in Gossip Girl as Eva. She also has been seen in such advertisements like Gap and Chloé fragrance. She has a casual and effortless style, without losing a sense of fashion and chicness. She wears everything from cute flowy skirts and sandals to, edgy trousers and boots. She is my inspiration this week and hopefully she'll inspire you too!

Missed the red carpet for the Screen Actors Guild Awards? It's okay, here are some of the most memorable looks worn. At the SAGA, the red carpet was filled with everyone's favorite stars decked out in their Hollywood bests. Although awards shows are for finding out who won certain categories, I like finding out who wore what, and who stood out the most. Jennifer Lawrence and Amanda Seyfried graced the red carpet in strapless blue gowns, both with side-swept loose curls. Jennifer wore a navy Dior couture dress with a deep red lip, while Amanda matched her more fair complexion with a sapphire blue Zac Posen dress with a soft nude pink lip. Nina Dobrev and Kiernan Shipka, both wore shades of pink to the awards show, however they could be more different from each other. Nina wore a soft pink, sleeveless dress with rosettes on it by Oscar de la Renta, with a pretty curled hairstyle. Both were memorable and age-appropriate. Lastly, but not the least of my favorites, was the glamorous yet edgy Anne Hathaway in a floor-length black Giambattista Valli dress, with a sheer top and bold red lip and pixie cut.

 

Red Carpets are a great place to find new fashion trends and get inspired for your own style. Don't forget about all the upcoming events in February that bring lots of fashion like the Grammys, Oscars, and Fashion Week!
